Bella Hadid gave a sartorial nod to Palestine in her Cannes wardrobe.
It's not the first time Bella, who is Palestinian-Dutch, has shown her support for Palestine via her clothing. Two years ago, she went viral at the same festival for wearing a vintage red-and-white keffiyeh dress. "Free Palestine forever," she wrote on Instagram.
This year, Bella has already taken to the Cannes red carpet numerous times, making plenty of headlines in doing so.
On May 19, she stepped out in a Tom Ford Fall 2026 ready-to-wear runway ensemble — paired with a special accessory.
Her necklace is in the shape of a key, a Palestinian symbol of the "key for return."
It comes from the "Nakba" (catastrophe), when between 750,000 and 1 million Palestinians were violently displaced from their homes from 1947 to '49. Specifically, it symbolizes the house keys Palestinians took with them, thinking they would be allowed to return, only to have those keys passed down through generations.
Bella's key is specifically shaped to resemble the outline of Palestine:
We'll keep you posted once we know who made the necklace.
