4 Very, Very, Very, Very Awkward Moments From This MAGA Politician’s Trip To Greenland

It’s giving “who invited that guy?!”

For some reason, the Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, is in Greenland.

Actually, there is a reason: Back in December 2025, Donald Trump appointed him as a special envoy to Greenland.

Still, it's kinda wild considering his day job is literally being the governor of Louisiana!!!

I digress. Let's talk about how incredibly messy the trip has been.

Orla Joelsen has been keeping tabs on the visit, and it's a lot.

First off, Joelsen shared that posters have popped up all over downtown Nuuk. They essentially translate to "USA STOP IT" in Greenlandic.

Then there was this hilariously awkward moment where Governor Landry asked a local child if he wanted to take a picture with him and the child bluntly said, "No."

Later on, he tried to win over some local kids with a bizarre pitch: "If you come to Louisiana and you come to the governor's mansion, [you can have] all the chocolate chip cookies you can eat."

As one person commented, "Greenlandic friends, keep your children at home until the Americans go back home."

The most cringeworthy moment came when Landry spoke to reporters about Trump putting Greenland on the map.

He told reporters, "What I found...that Greenland was not on a map until Donald Trump put it on a map. In other words, the United States before Donald Trump had basically ignored this place."

The counterpoint to that argument being: "If Greenland was not on a map until 2025, how come the US has had military bases there since 1951?"

And finally, on Wednesday morning, he was followed by a woman with a blue bag yelling at him, "Don't come here, go home!"

To which, this person summed his entire visit up: "This whole visit is an episode of Veep."

Needless to say, the locals don't seem to be thrilled!
