After many, many months of waiting, Off Campus finally dropped on Prime Video — and at this point, it’s safe to say it’s become my entire personality. At least until Heated Rivalry drops season two.
If you need a quick summary about season one, which is based on Elle Kennedy's book The Deal, here it is: Garrett Graham is the captain and star of the hockey team, following in the steps of his famous and toxic father, Phil Graham. When he realizes he may fail a philosophy class, which would get him suspended from the team, he enlists the help of Hannah Wells. After losing a major music scholarship, Hannah enters a pop music competition in order to help pay for school. When Garrett offers to pay for her tutoring lessons AND pretend to be her fake boyfriend in order to make her crush jealous, Hannah agrees to help him pass their next big test. What starts as a simple deal involving a fake-dating scheme and some tutoring lessons, quickly turns into a very sweet and steamy romance.
Off Campus has only been out for a couple weeks, and the cast will be getting ready to film the second season soon. Back in February, Prime Video announced that Off Campus would be renewed for a second season, and it's been confirmed that filming will begin in June. Which means we have not one, but two hockey romances filming in Canada this summer. And if we're all lucky, we'll only have to wait a year before we see it on the small screen, but in the meantime, here's everything you need to know about the cast and their future storylines — including some major additions!
1. Elle Bright has been acting since she was a child, playing a young Kate Middleton in an episode of The Crown and landing a breakout role as Darrell Rivers in the Malory Towers. Her role in Off Campus is her first grown-up acting gig and showcased both her acting and singing abilities in role as Hannah Wells, who is a music major at Briar U. In an interview, Ella shares that she didn't use a vocal double and learned to play guitar and piano, “I feel very happy to say that it was all me."
2. Belmont Cameli wasn't always going to be an actor. In an interview, he shares that he went to school for finance, but dropped out shortly after his father passed away, "All of a sudden, life felt really short, and it felt really important that I figured out what I wanted to do." His first major role was on the Saved by the Bell reboot as Jamie Spano, but his most recent job playing Garrett Graham on Off Campus has quickly become his biggest role. "I’ve waited a really long time for my chance to be the lead on a TV show. Hopefully audiences see that I worked really hard and can resonate with Garrett’s story."
While season two will focus on another couple, both Ella and Belmont are confirmed to return in the roles. “I'm excited to really see them in a solid relationship, and going through an adult romance in college,” Bright said in an interview.
3. Known for her roles in Sex Appeal and Project Mc², Mika Abdalla instantly won over fans for her portrayal of Allie Hayes. Her viral scene in the second episode of Off Campus, where she wears a lookalike J.Lo dress to a costume party, got the attention of the Jennifer Lopez. Thee Jennifer Lopez! "J.Lo followed us all on Instagram," Mika shared in an interview. "The J.Lo of it all is so crazy."
4. Canadian star Stephen Kalyn has had many roles in indie films like Warrior Strong and Cascade, but his latest gig as Dean Di Laurentis has catapulted him into instant stardom. In an interview, Stephen shared that his fiancée, Victoria Lovatsis, was a huge fan of the series and was actually the one who told him to go specifically for the role of Dean. "I'm like, 'Be the playboy guy who gets all the girls. You sure?' And she's like, 'Yeah, You're the guy. You got it.'" And she was right, because the casting was 🤌😙.
Dean has a history as the team's biggest playboy and party animal, but he quickly falls for Hannah's best friend, Allie, a theatre and performance art major who breaks up with her longtime boyfriend, Sean, after realizing he doesn't actually support her dreams to pursue acting. Her and Dean start hooking up, and while both decide to keep things casual, it's very clear that they've both caught feelings. Whether or not they end up being the leading couple in season two, the finale episode guarantees that there will be lots of drama to unpack. With a new couple set to lead season two, all signs point to Dean and Allie!
5. You may have seen Antonio Cipriano on Broadway or on the small screen in shows like National Treasure: Edge of History and Harlan Coben's Shelter, and most recently as John Logan in Off Campus. He's one of Garrett's teammates and best friends, which makes his secret crush on Hannah (and their impromptu kiss in episode two) extra messy.
In fact, there seems to be a lot of tension between the two besties in season one that doesn't exist in the book version. But in an interview, Antonio shared there's a deep bond between the characters, "There's a lot under the surface for Logan in a lot of these [moments]. There's a little bit of resentment. He doesn't have the same trajectory as Garrett Graham. And what we really wanted to capture, Bel and I, was that deep love there, regardless of what's happening underneath the surface." With season two coming up and the new cast additions, things are bound to heat up for John Logan.
6. Josh Heuston played the role of campus heartthrob and talented singer-songwriter Justin Kohl so well, it's hard to believe that he's not a musician in real life. In an interview, Josh revealed that he only learned to play guitar after he landed the role. And while he played a major role in Hannah and Garrett's love story (as Hannah's crush and music collaborator), Louisa Levy and Josh have both confirmed that he won't return to the show for season two.
7. Jalen Thomas Brooks is known for his breakout role in the medical show, The Pitt, and his new role as John Tucker in Off Campus is sure to be another huge gig for the actor. As the peacemaker and resident cook on the team, Tucker really is the glue that holds team and his friend group together. And while he doesn't become the protagonist until the fourth book, The Goal, chances are we'll be seeing a lot of him in season two.
8. Canadian star Julia Sarah Stone was a surprising addition to the Off Campus series. Their character, Jules, doesn't appear in the book, but plays a significant role in the show as John Logan's younger sibling and the voice behind the Fifth Line gossip account. As a new character to the series and Off Campus universe, there's no telling how much we'll see Jules in season two — but chances are we'll be seeing them a lot.
9. Known for his roles in Firefly Lane, Yellowjackets, and Cruel Intentions, Canadian star Khobe Clarke became an instant fan-favourite in Off Campus as Beau Maxwell. He plays a quarterback on the football team and Dean's best friend, so we see him quite a few times throughout the first season. If season two focuses on Allie and Dean's relationship, it's likely we'll be seeing Khobe a lot more, too.
10. Charlie Evans made his big screen debut in the 2023 film Leave the World Behind and starred in Paradise as Jeremy Bradford in 2025, but his appearance in season one Off Campus has been the most shocking. His character, Hunter Davenport, doesn't appear in the series until third book The Score but he has a larger role in the season one of the show.
While no specifics are given, we learn that he has a complicated history with Dean, and it all comes to a head in the finale episode when it's revealed that he kissed Allie one night (TEA!). In an interview, Louisa Levy shared that they hadn't originally planned to introduce Hunter in season one, "[we] got excited about it because it allowed us to tee up potential future seasons that we might be able to explore." I don't know about you, but I love a good love triangle!
11. India Fowler is set to join the show as Grace Ivers in season two, which will be a departure from her previous roles in mystery and horror films like Fear Street: Prom Queen and The Strangers: Chapter 1. Grace and John Logan are the leading couple in the second book of the Off Campus series, The Mistake, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in season two of the show.
12. And finally, Phillipa Soo will join the Off Campus cast as Scarlett, a theatre artist who works in the college's drama department. As a Broadway star herself (think Hamilton, Into The Woods, and Camelot), it feels very on brand for her play Scarlett in season two.
If you're looking for some recommendations about what to watch until season two drops, I'd tell to binge Heated Rivalry (if you haven't already), or just wait until June 10th when Every Year After (a TV adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling romance Every Summer After) drops on Prime Video.
