Long, long ago, in 1986, Ronald Reagan famously said: "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the Government, and I'm here to help."
Well, Zohran Mamdani said it's a "good quote," but he totally disagrees.
Instead, he offered up a much scarier nine-word alternative: "I worked all day and can't feed my family."
People on Reddit are completely rallying behind the message, essentially shouting: LISTEN TO THIS, DEMOCRATS. THIS IS THE MESSAGE. THIS IS IT.
One top comment from Financial_Factor7955 reads, "Corporate dems please wake tf up and bear witness to actual working class governance."
Another comment from user burnaccountlol echoes a similar sentiment: "This is what today's left wing ought to look like."
Over on X, people were a bit more direct: "cooked his ass."
Another person added how it was refreshing to see Dems not glorifying Reagan: "Really refreshing to hear Reagan quoted derogatorily by an American politician rather than in a fawning that many Democrats will default to."
Another added, "Kudos to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. It's about fucking time someone mocked Ronald Reagan's dumbass quote."
And finally, a simple: "He's so good at this."
